The Emergency Services Training (E.S.T.) Program is offered by the 

Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association to

 

High school seniors OR Any fire company volunteer 

(Preference is given to those who volunteer within Carroll County)

 

Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the

Carroll County Public Safety Training Center

Located at 50 Kate Wagner Road Westminster, MD 21157

 

High School Students are required to receive permission from

High School Counselor AND High School Principal

 

All participants must have permission from their Fire Company Chief

Classes will begin promptly at 12:00PM and will run until 3:00PM.

The E.S.T Program will follow the Carroll County Public School calendar.

Requirements

Be 16 years of age by the start of the school year

Be a current member of volunteer fire company

Pass a Carroll County Fire Department Physical

 

High School Students must also

Have all graduation requirements completed OR Have them scheduled in their senior year

 

 The Emergency Services Training program offers

Fire Department Basic Orientation, Protective Equipment and SCBA

(major topics covered in this course include personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, and self-contained breathing apparatus)

Hazardous Materials Awareness / Operations 

(topics include regulation and standards, chemistry, recognition and identification of hazardous materials)

Emergency Medical Technician

(provides basic life support training, services and skills to assist the public in an emergency medical situation)

Firefighter I

(topics include basic fire suppression techniques)

Rescue Technician Courses

(identification of support resources required, size up, and management of resources for specific rescue incidents)

Upon graduation of the program, the participants will have met both state and National certifications in order to provide Emergency Services in their community.

  After discussion and approval from your counselor Students can submit their application forms to:
