Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department has placed into service new Rescue Squad 12.

Effective at 1600Hrs today and by the orders of Fire Chief Eddie Ruch, the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department has placed into service new Rescue Squad 12. The New Rescue Squad was built by REV Group, Inc., KME Fire Apparatus, and is completely outfitted with all new modern equipment allowing the members of SFDFD to provide Auto Extraction, Rope Rescue, Water Rescue and any additional type of incident that would involve someone being trapped in, under, or on something. This piece will proudly service the southern portion of Carroll County.

Wow! What an awesome unit and the result of countless hours of effort in the functional design and the associated fund raising for this apparatus. This new RSQ-12 will serve for decades throughout the region and brings with it the knowledge and experience of those who will qualify to operate on it. CONGRATULATIONS to the Sykesville-Freedom District- Station 12 and Chief Ruch! Strong work by all!
